Green Maple Education Association began with a simple but powerful vision: to build a bridge between cultures, and to create a place where families—especially newcomers—feel seen, supported, and at home.

Founded in Waterloo Region by a group of passionate immigrants and educators, our story began when we saw firsthand how difficult it can be for highly educated newcomers—particularly from Taiwanese and Chinese backgrounds—to adjust to life in Canada. Language barriers, cultural differences, and a lack of tailored support often stand in the way of opportunity.

Instead of waiting for change, we decided to be the change.

At Green Maple, we’ve created a space where education, child care, and community support come together under one roof. We offer culturally sensitive early learning programs, workshops, and resources that empower both parents and children to grow with confidence. From RCM music and art classes to job search guidance and settlement support, everything we do is designed to meet real, lived needs.

Our process is people-first. We listen. We adapt. We build with heart. Every program we run and every service we offer is thoughtfully designed to reflect the values of care, respect, and community.

And we’re proud to say: 100% of our program profits go back into building affordable, high-quality child care through the CWELCC system. We believe in reinvesting in our future—because when children thrive, communities do too.

Our name, Green Maple, symbolizes both our Canadian roots and our commitment to helping families grow strong, wherever they’re planted.
