What is Smart Start™?

Smart Start™ is an award-winning early childhood music education program from The Royal Conservatory, offered under The Marilyn Thomson Early Childhood Education Centre.
Smart Start™ 音樂啟蒙課程是由加拿大皇家音樂學院（RCM）研發、屢獲殊榮的幼兒音樂教育課程，隸屬於瑪麗蓮·湯姆森幼兒教育中心（The Marilyn Thomson Early Childhood Education Centre）旗下。
Designed for children ages 0 to 6, Smart Start™ combines the latest research in neuroscience with traditional early childhood learning methods to create a fun, engaging, and brain-boosting musical experience.
本課程專為 0 至 6 歲兒童設計，融合現代神經科學研究成果與經典幼兒教育方法，透過音樂，帶來充滿樂趣、互動性強、促進大腦發展的學習體驗。
Each weekly class uses music and movement to nurture key cognitive skills—such as attention, memory, and flexibility—which support a child’s growth in reading, math, problem-solving, and social skills.
每週的課程透過音樂與肢體律動，培養孩子的專注力、記憶力與認知彈性等重要的認知能力，為日後在閱讀、數學、邏輯思維與人際互動上的學習建立紮實的基礎。
Through singing, rhythm, dramatic play, visual arts, and dance, children build confidence and creativity while strengthening the foundations for lifelong learning.
課程內容包含唱歌、節奏練習、戲劇遊戲、美術與舞蹈，幫助孩子提升自信與創造力，培養終身學習的能力。
Led by highly trained early childhood music educators and supported by The Royal Conservatory’s on-site research lab, Smart Start™ draws on over 60 years of proven music education practice.

Our Classes

Smart Start™: 0-1 Years
Begin making lifelong connections with music and developing the foundations for basic cognitive skills through fun parent-child activities.

Expand your child's musical skills through movement, and further develop cognitive skills in fun and engaging ways.

Develop your child's musical abilities through more independent activities and expand cognitive skills through creativity and self-awareness.
Meet Our Teacher 我們的老師
Jamie Yu is a Certified Smart Start™ teacher trained by The Royal Conservatory. Starting in Fall 2025, she will offer Mandarin-language Smart Start™ classes in partnership with Green Maple.
Jamie believes that music is a powerful tool to nurture confidence, focus, and creativity in young children. Her classes are engaging, inclusive, and full of joy—creating a welcoming space for children and families to learn and grow together.
