🌱 Community Events Volunteer

As a Community Events Volunteer, you’ll help us bring families together through cultural and educational activities. Your tasks may include:

  • Assisting with event setup and cleanup.

  • Welcoming guests and providing directions or information.

  • Supporting activity stations such as arts & crafts, games, or workshops.

  • Helping promote events through flyers, social media, or word of mouth.

  • Taking photos or assisting with documentation of events.

This role is perfect for outgoing, energetic individuals who enjoy engaging with people and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

🌱 Settlement Support Volunteer

As a Settlement Support Volunteer, you’ll help newcomers feel at home in Canada by offering guidance and practical support. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with translation or interpretation (Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset but not required).

  • Connecting families to local resources (housing, healthcare, education, employment).

  • Helping with job search preparation, such as resumes or interview practice.

  • Accompanying newcomers to appointments or community services when needed.

  • Providing a friendly and supportive ear as they adjust to a new environment.

This role suits volunteers who are compassionate, patient, and interested in helping immigrant families overcome language and cultural barriers.

🌱 Administrative Assistance Volunteer

As an Administrative Assistance Volunteer, you’ll help keep Green Maple running smoothly behind the scenes. Your tasks may include:

  • Data entry and record keeping.

  • Answering phone calls or responding to basic inquiries.

  • Preparing and organizing documents, forms, or program materials.

  • Assisting with email newsletters, outreach, or social media updates.

  • Supporting staff with scheduling, filing, or other office duties.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy organization, communication, and teamwork.
